The Latin Patriarchate is dedicated to supporting the education of all children in its area.
Currently, there are 41 schools in 40 cities which includes 35 kindergarten classes. The schools serve ~19,000 students with ~1,600 staff member. Nearly 80% of the staff are Christians.
In 2019, the school population was 57% Christian/43% Muslim. The Muslim families desire the strong academic programs offered by these schools, especially for their girls. Virtually any Christian who wants to attend can a parish school can do so. Muslim families pay full tuition while many Christians receive financial aid
The biggest challenge the schools face is making teachers’ salaries competitive. The Latin Patriarchate is implementing a plan to increase teachers’ salaries to a more competitive level over five years (began in 2016) with the new compensation plan adopted in Jordan.
